
Akaki Tsereteli State University (ATSU) in Kutaisi, Georgia, traces its heritage to 1930 when it was formed from a branch of Tbilisi State University. Since 1990, it has born the name of celebrated Georgian poet Akaki Tsereteli, and today it stands as a comprehensive institution offering diverse fields of study including medicine, engineering, humanities, and sciences.
ATSU operates nine faculties, including a Faculty of Medicine, providing a six‑year MBBS program taught in English, along with Georgian-language instruction.
